"Scenes that take my breath away compel me to put brush to canvas. The beauty of the land is my inspiration.

My work with color and design in the textile business helped prepare me for painting in oils and pastels.  Capturing the nuances and shifting light of landscapes is always an exhilarating creative experience.

I can’t imagine not painting."

Alison Webb has lived in North Carolina for 27 years and before that resided in New York City. She travels widely, painting on location as well as in her Asheville studio.

Raised in the mountains of Tennessee, Alison was educated at New York University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Skidmore College. In the international textile industry, she was a design forecaster and color expert for major corporations.

Alison has studied at the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas; Art Workshop International, Assisi, Italy; Peninsula School of Art, Door County, Wisconsin; and with landscape artist Mark Henry of Weaverville Fine Art Studio.

In addition to being in several private collections, her work has been shown locally at Alexander & Lehnert in the Grove Arcade, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of North Carolina Asheville, and at the Corner Kitchen in Biltmore Village.

"Painting is for me a passionate connection to the natural world."
