Hyn Patty's art focuses on nature - plants, animals, landscapes, and people who interact in it, painted plein air or in studio.   Her work ranges from detailed Realism to looser Impressionism in oils, pastels, or watercolors.  Hyn challenges herself to capture nature's boundless beauty and our relationship with it.

With a BFA in Illustration and an MFA in Painting, and with pieces in private and public collections in more than 30 countries of the world, Hyn's many awards include major scholarships, fellowships, and a two year post graduate full ride grant for painting in the People's Republic of China as a guest artist.

Currently Hyn resides on the edge of the Middle Prong Wilderness southwest of Asheville, North Carolina.  She enjoys teaching art classes and accepts commissions for custom works.  You may find her plein air painting from the back of her motorcycle or while hiking in the mountains she loves.
