Chris Bell is a local WNC Artist from the Madison County, NC Phillips family.
Chris has been an artist all her life, attending Mars Hill University in 1987 as an Art Major. As life often twists and turns Chris left her Art aspirations to care for her family.
In 2012 Chris returned to a more determined focus on her passion for Art expression and began a self-taught exploration that in 2016 serendipitously led her to discover the art medium of her dreams: Alcohol Ink. Its unruly nature and ultra-vivid bright colors continue to tickle her soul. She is producing artworks that resonate in harmony with her ambition.
In the beginning of 2019, thanks to her father Butch Phillips, Chris was able to install an Art Studio upon her property in Mars Hill, NC and finally have a dedicated space to create. During the Pandemic times of 2020 while being quarantined away in her studio she has rediscovered her interest and love for a multitude of other mediums as she continues her growth and exploration as an artist. Chris works in Alcohol Ink, Acrylic, Oil, India Ink, Encaustics, Charcoal, Graphite & Colored Pencil.
Born October 10th, 1969. Lives and works in Mars Hill, North Carolina.
