Artist Statement
Reda Kay, a native of Miami, Florida, makes her home in Asheville, North carolina. Her accomplishments as a photographer and her desire to expand her means of expression led her to the study of water media art in 1993. She continues to develop her skills in workshops with nationally known artists and dialogues with artists and craft people around the world.

In her studio, Reda uses watercolor, acrylic, hand colored and rough textured handmade papers, and found objects to create her mixed media art. Her work, inspired by her continued worldwide travels, ties concepts to culture, spirit, nature and the textures and moods of the environment. Her abstracted art works are evoked from feelings about the memories of her journeys and the people she encounters.

Since 1995 she has exhibited in various juried shows and has had two solo shows. Her work can be found in the Asheville gallery of art, and private collections from New York to Florida.

Work can also be seen at the Miya Gallery in Weaverville, NC
