" Art has been an important part of my life since early childhood. For me art is more than the technical skills of drawing and painting---it is an appreciation of life. It is a means of expression what I feel about the wonders of nature; specifically the worlds landscapes, the human figure and mans surroundings.

I am challenged by changes which take place before my eyes---- the angle of the sun, shadows cast from clouds or objects, figures moving in and out of my vision and changes in the weather. I try to express this process of change within my paintings."

Blome received his B.A. in Fine Arts in painting from Michigan State University. He continued his development through work at the school of the Art Institute of Chicago and through private study.

He served nationally known clients as a graphic designer and illustrator, creating award winning communications for more than twenty five years,

Since moving to North Carolina in 1993, he has devoted full time to drawing and painting, working in both oils and water media. His subjects include locations in the U.S. and Europe, Latin America and the Middle East
